Wixon has been experiencing multiple users loosing access to Outlook Email. When this happens, an immediate workaround is to open SharePoint (Home Page --  wixoninc.sharepoint.com) from the Edge browser and access Outlook from the dots tool in the upper left corner.

If the user is seeing Need Password instead of “Connected to: Microsoft Exchange” at the bottom of Outlook even though they have not changed their password, then a restart of Windows may required. First though, try

From Settings> Accounts>Access Work & School select the Microsoft account & click disconnect, then connect and enter credentials again.

When this is the case MIMECAST authentication and verification by Email will also probably be necessary.

The more typical scenario is after a password reset. Wixon App Support has received numerous reports of a problem loading Outlook after password changes. This may  be a problem with Office 365 Account License association the proper credentials. Because Account access through Outlook is blocked when this happens, users resolve this by accessing their Office 365 account settings from a different application in the Office 365 suite.

  • Exit Outlook
  • Open WORD or EXCEL
  • select FILE from menu bar
  • in left frame select Account
  • Click Fix Me and enter requested credentials
  • Re-open Outlook and it should load.
  • If Outlook doesn’t load at this point submit a helpdesk ticket.

Mail profile corruption is a different issue. Deleting the Outlook profile from Control Panel > Mail and recreating it restarting and rebuilding this from Outlook is the resolution for this, but reconnecting to the local OST file can take a long time to complete.
