From Cisco UNIFIED CM Administration portal (IP address 198.168.100.41  requiring login) go to the Menu item Devices and select Phone from the drop down menu.


Search by Device Name beings with csf  and click Find. From the device list select a line with a status of None and open it.


Select the Copy function in the menu bar. The record will appear with the information in an editable format.


Change the device name so it read CSF followed by the eight character user name as used for AD sign in. 


Change the description to read the full name of the user. 


Change the Owner by selecting the replacement users Active Directory ID. 


Click Save at the top of the the page under Phone Configuration.


Once save, the new virtual device will show up and device configuration from the left frame plus assignment tot the user are necessary..



Once the Configuration of the new virtaul phone device is completed, the user setup in Jabber should be addressed.

  • Update to the latest available Jabber Client
  • Configure calling from desk phone for in house use or calling from Jabber for remote use.
  • Provide user guidance on features such as addition of contacts, voice mail access, settings etc.
