Recover from Rubrick server backups by browsing to https://192.168.3.221/web/bin/index.html#/protection/vmware?tab=VmsOnly and accessing the server by clicking the server name, i.e.,

Then select the date of last known good backup prior to any incident requiring file recovery to bring up a list of the backup taken that day. Select from the Snapshots on the right frame the most recent backup prior to the incident, clicking the three dots and selecting Recover Files.

Drill into the appropriate volume (on FP02 its E:) by clicking the volume letter name (not the check mark) and then the Share folder until the requested file is visible, selecting the file to be restored a nd clicking NEXT i.e., 

Select Download then finish to copy to the local machine download folder.


Scroll down to Activities to confirm processing is progressing. Once processed click the file name, select download, then use the download symbol on the pop up page to copy to the local download folder.


Open Remote Connection to the server and, from the server Management console> Tools select computer management.. Drill into System tools > Shared folders > Open Files to determine if a files is in use (opened by a user). Full path names of open files will present in right frame. If it is open, right click and select Close Open File.


Use File Explorer to explore to the server volume i.e., \\FP02\E$ and drilling down to the folder in which the file to be replaced is stored. Copy from the local download folder to this directory the file to be restored, replacing the existing file. Delete the file from the local download directory.


Ticket will be resolved as follows when a reply to user reports the file has been restored.
