UPDATE 2/16/17: MAKE SURE THE COA REQUIREMENTS TESTS DO NOT INVOLVE LINK ITEMS.  IF THEY DO, YOU NEED TO LOOK AT THOSE QO MFG DATES AS WELL.

The sold item typically has COA Requirements (and Quality Orders) entered at the 8-digit level unless overridden in 1.4.24.7 Test Item field (maintained by Quality/Analytical).

The expire and date of manufacture on COA is calculated via the following logic:

- Use backwards lot tracing (3.21.9.1) to determine the test item's lot(s)

- Look at QO's for the lot(s)

- When a date of mfg is filled out, it will add the shelf life to calculate the expire date.  Use the most recent date of mfg if multiple.

If no date of mfg filled out, then:

- If 6-digit sold item, then use the Expire date in MFG/PRO; mfg date is expire date - shelf life

- If 8-digit sold item, then mfg date = today; expire date = today + shelf life

The reason for the 8-digit logic is that the lot # could look old but Wixon QC/QA guarrantees the freshness of the product through the full shelf life, starting with either the COA generate date, or the QO date of manufacture (if it prints on COA).

6-digits are generally produced and shipped right away therefore just use the lot's expire date (or start with the QO date of mfg if it prints on COA).
